Beginner Dj

Yo I'm interested in djing, I don't really know which route to go... Vinyl or cd.. I've been checking out the technic sl-1210 mg5 with a rane ttm 57sl mixer. And also the pioneer cdj 1000 and 2000 models with a pioneer dim 1000 and 2000 mixer. I am new to this and it's a lot of money to put out there, but I know I have a passion for it. What are the differences between vinyl and cd turn tables? I know a lot of people are loyal to vinyl but what's a non-bios opinion? Do you have any pointers on where I should start or any questions you can ask me to help you help me?
