Stocking Up on the Right DJ Gear

A DJ with the right DJ gear is a beautiful thing.

While it may seem like fun all the time to other people, we know that the life of a disc jockey is not always an easy one and it certainly isn't a cheap one. There are so many things to have to purchase in order to get your own business up and running. Sure, you can lease but it is difficult to make any real money of your own while having to make payments on your gear. A set of turntables, amps, microphones, speakers and amps—these things are all your responsibility as a DJ and they can be expensive things to have.

Speakers and Amps

Sound is important. American Audio V1000plus Power Amplifier As a disc jockey, your entire wardrobe of accessories is all relating to the sound, as that is the reason that people hire you. Nobody wants to sit at a boring wedding reception or a boring party that is so quiet you can hear what everybody is saying. When it comes to DJing, the better your sound is the better your show, that is what people are going to remember you by. American Audio DLS-15P 15 That's why you need the right DJ gear.

For a beginning DJ working out of his garage, surely old stereo speakers would do just fine but for a professional DJ doing traveling shows it is important to have a good set of speakers and amps that can live up to a great deal of amplitude as well as stand up to being transported as well. This should help you narrow down on what you need as well, but having a good startup fund for this is a necessary evil of the DJing business.

Lighting

Stage lighting and venue lighting is something else that DJs need to stock up on. Your light show can help set the tone for the guests at the party, or where ever you're spinning.

Lighting foils, flood lighting, spot lighting—whatever you can bring can help you bring the party with you and drastically increase your value.American DJ LS-50 Portable Lighting Package

A DJ Mobile

Being a DJ and having your own equipment is great, but what is the good if you don't have the type of vehicle that can transport it back and forth? Investing in a van or truck that can help you easily and efficiently transport your goods is very important, so before you have all of the equipment you should be sure to have a way to transport it as well.

Having a disc jockey business can be very profitable, (and the best lifestyle you can imagine). Find a way to own your own equipment and have a way to transport it around. Be able to take control of your profession and stock up on the things that it will take to have your business as profitable as possible.
