First Dance mix up

by Darrell
(Scarborough,UK)

Well, this is a classic... I spoke to the groom about music choices prior to the wedding and he requested "Fools Rush in" by Elvis Presley. "No problem," I thought. While I was preparing the evenings music at home I couldn't help thinking it was a little fast-paced for a first dance. Nonetheless, their choice.

The evening came, the guests gathered for the big moment of the first dance. Right on cue... "Fool's Rush in, where angels fear to tread...."

After about a minute of the bride and groom looking uncomfortable on the floor the bride leant over and said it was the wrong track!! I was startled and somewhat thrown into panic... Had I heard wrong on the phone? Nope, I had heard correctly. I checked my notes and they backed it up. What had gone wrong?

It seems that the groom was referring to a line in the song "I can't help falling in love with you" by Elvis. There is a line in that stating "fools rush in". Unlucky for them Elvis recorded a song titled "Fools rush in" too!
