packing your box

When your mixing, make sure to arrange your box in a way that suits you. You can go by mood, tempo, key, style, etc. Also, get in the habit of marking your records by bpm. This will make mixing on the fly a breeze.

Was out in DC a couple of weeks ago and went to this night club where the dj appears to be playing vinyl. There are two turntables that are used and he can scratch and mix records but never changes the vinyl. Apparently he is downloading music from a computer that he has in front of him and can transfer to the turntables. What type of system is this?

A valid question.

What genre do you mix? If you mix house, choose two tracks with similar percussion lines and bass hits. Choose songs that have minor melodys that fit well together. I usually start to mix after the second breakdown of the song.
