Make sure this is what you really want to do.

Too many people get into djing figure it's quick easy cash and there's not a lot to it. Dead wrong. First make sure this is what you truly want to do. If it is i suggest you find someone who is a dj and let them teach you the ropes.
Make sure that you get yourself real pro gear. It will save you on having to keep buying other gear and putting gear in the shop to be fixed all the time. Do remember true pro gear isn't cheap.
You need to also find out what kind of dj is best suited for you to be. Keep in mind you're only as good as your last gig. Don't worry about making mistakes in the begining, just keep going. We all have when first getting started.
Make sure you have some type of business plan in mind on where you want your business to be at a certain time. Your business like any other should be growing. All businesses will go through tough times but hang in there.
Make sure you advertise your business properly so the public will know who you are. If you can find a dj site that will look to help djs with questions they may have or give tips like here, please register with them and keep in touch.
Do your homework and good luck!
