Vietnam era Music

So I have been asked to DJ a wedding in a couple of months and the only thing the couple asked me to do is stay away from Vietnam Era music ( I guess the father had some terrible experiences. What are some main bands I should avoid? I'm asking this because that era seems like it is so diverse and we all know how much music (good stuff) that was put out during that time. So any input or advice would be very helpful. I have a few in mind (beatles, rolling stones,) But what about some disco or van morrison etc?
