Expert Wedding DJs

As expert wedding DJs, you are already comfortable in a setting in which the dress code is upscale and formal. You are developing a high end list of clients for your corporate and wedding gigs, and you're well on your way to establishing a big name for yourself in your area. This is what it takes to become an expert wedding DJ? First, it takes hard work. Nothing in life comes easy. However, it also takes a host of other things.

All expert wedding disc jockeys have the right equipment. You need to have the right equipment to fit the mood and the event. No two weddings are the same, so you will really need to make sure you have the right equipment for the specific job. Talking with your clients will help you get the feel for exactly what you need when you arrive at the event.

You will also need to become a versatile DJ as well. The guests at the wedding will vary greatly in age, religion, and ethnicity. The music in your collection should vary just as greatly. Good wedding DJs have the play lists to handle all sorts of wedding crowds.

Many couples will be looking for truly professional wedding disc jockeys, therefore, they may turn to groups such as the American Disc Jockey Association. Only the best are accepted here, which means you must be insured and provide emergency backups just in case something were to come up. Therefore, if you really want to show your professionalism take the steps to join this association and prove that you are a serious DJ.

Of course, having a web site is a powerful way to get the word out about your great DJ services. I use Site Build It! (it's how I built this site) and it's the best way to go from zero to business online.

Expert wedding DJs also remember that this event is purely for their client. Be sure that you ask the couple or the person booking your services what type of music they prefer. In most cases, the couple will be prepared with a song list. If they are not, guide them along with some suggestions and make a list as you go. The song list will help you keep with their tastes and desires, as well as their guests. After all, they know their guests the best.

Hey Wedding DJs - What Do You Know?

Sure, you've probably seen people do some crazy things at weddings. But you've probably also had experiences that other wedding DJs could learn from.

Play lists, mixes, lighting arrangements, anything. After all, you're out doing gigs, so you can't see what the other pro DJs are doing, right?

Willing to share?

(If you're sharing embarrassing details, please leave real names out though, ok?)

Also, if you have pictures, you can show those here too. Hey, who here wants to see a great wedding DJ set-up? Go ahead and show off!
