(USA)

Hello, Your website is great. I am DJing a wedding next year, so I started planning, and I am thinking of the playlist I should play. Can you give me a brief list of music mostly played in weddings and the crowd enjoys? thanks

wedding songs i play alot are
by: Anonymous

brick house
boggie shoes
lets get it on
butterfly kisses
i loved her first
wonderful tonight
we are family
shout
brown eyed girl

there are all kinds of songs that i find myself playing alot but it really does all depend on the crowd and the bride and groom if there in there low 20s they are going to want more fast stuff that they can dance to as opposted to so people who might be having their second or third wedding who might not want alot of fast music

and line dances are almost all ways a good way to get everyone up and dancing but rember to make sure the bride is ok with that they also make it alot eaiser to transition into fast music but you have to work with what they want and if you can sastify everyone that is the real test espicaly dj'ing wedding because they tend to have very diverse age groups and everyone has their own taste in music

People and Shoes
by: Anonymous

What i always do is put urself in the shoe's of the audience, Try to think of songs they are familiar with and want to make them dance. Of course with weddings your going to need some slow tempo songs to put that romantic atmosphere out there. Just go with your gut! Search the net for "floorfillers" "greatest hits" "best love song albulms" ect. A good DJ should know what hes looking for ;)

Wedding playlist
by: Guy Ames, Webmaster

Thanks for asking your question here.

Here are my Top 5 wedding playlist suggestions (keep in mind, for most of the weddings I've DJ'd the playlist has been requested by the bride and groom). Yup, I've done a lot of oldies weddings!

Here they are, my top 5 songs for a wedding reception...

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack)

Save The Last Dance (The Drifters)

Brown Eyed Girl (Van Morrison)

You Are The Woman (FireFall)

Unforgettable (Nat King Cole)

I'd love to see others' top 5 wedding playlists, or even your top 10 songs to play at a wedding here.
